In her Australian homeland Roma is a well established artist and this, her latest, lives up to her reputation for fusing a delicate artistry with luminous spirituality. Her voice is an unusual one - one part Twila Paris, one part Kate Bush - while the production here, by Phil Gaudion and Roma herself, is as good as anything coming out of Nashville with elegant keyboard lines and nicely textured rhythms. The songs too are strong, with the Amy Grant-tinged "No Ordinary Life", the more pensive "Everlasting Arms", the gutsy "Love On My Skin" and the more worship-orientated "Battle Of The Brave". Roma is a class act and even if she never makes it in the US marketplace, deserves the attention of discerning followers of well crafted inspirational pop.
