The latest EP from UK worship singer/songwriter Sam Hibbard came out of his time at Worship Central Academy and reflects the man's passion for God and his ability to turn out well-constructed songs of praise. Understandably due to the shared WCA association, Hibbard sounds a lot like fellow worshippers Tim Hughes or Ben Cantelon but this lack of distinction does not take away from the fact that the six tracks on offer skilfully communicate something of the artist's love for God - the opening two tracks "All For You" and "All Consuming Love" being cases in point. Hibbard employs a mix of acoustic and electronic elements which, whilst not pushing the boat out too far stylistically, makes for a pleasant enough listen and gives enough scope for his accomplished and passionate vocals to take centre stage. In an already crowded marketplace, Hibbard may have to find a unique selling point pretty soon to survive but this EP shows that he has what it takes.
