It always depresses me to hear an obviously talented Christian artist who seems to have failed to keep up with musical vogues, this one being reminiscent of Luther Vandross in the 1980s. The problem is this: most of the population (although perhaps not Christians, it seems) don't listen to this type of music anymore. Such a recording sounds too contrived and cheesy for the new Millennia. A couple of narrative sections, although well intended, are delivered in a manner not far from that of one of the characters from Sesame Street, teaching a group of kids about the number seven or a letter of the alphabet. Now, I think that the way that Sesame Street combines education and fun is great, it just doesn't work on a Christian album. The statements appear over-preachy and patronising, rather than stimulating any serious contemplation. All this, of course, is a shame as Boswell's voice is great and his message is even better. But these elements alone don't make a great recording. If Samuel can find a decent songwriter and a reasonable producer/engineer he could go places. But this CD won't do it for him.

Samuel Boswell. Keep on making great music for God. Don't follow the croud, but rather keep following the cloud (Holy Spirit). Your big brake wiil come as it did for the shepherd boy David, Joseph (coat of many colors), and even Jesus himself. Wait on the Lord and be of good courage, again I say waite!
