Sarah was introduced to the scene with a track on the 'Sunday Night Live Sessions' various artists album. Now the Leicestershire-based singer has released this five-song mini-album featuring five of her own compositions and two traditional songs. She opens with the classic American spiritual "Wayfaring Stranger", an upbeat version with her relaxed, smooth voice against a nice back-beat guitar rhythm. She also covers "Black Is The Colour": another hugely popular classic American folk song that showcases her beautiful guitar playing. Where it gets interesting, though, is with Sarah's own songs. She has a happy combination of catchy tunes and neat lyrics, presented in her own blend of bluegrass, blues, folk and country styles. "Keep Moving On" is a really first-rate, modern country song. The blues surface in "Heart's A-Heavy" with its easy listening, cool, "moving-on" rhythm and is equally effective. "Through The Night" also displays her skill of writing memorable songs. A very promising debut.
