Scott Blackwell - Keepin' On: A Myx'd Worship Experience
STYLE: Dance/Electronic RATING OUR PRODUCT CODE: 4762-4818 LABEL: Myx MYD2109 FORMAT: CD Album

Veteran producer and father of the whole sanctified dance scene has got together a bunch of West Coast worship leaders (rather than session singers - take note, other record producers) and working either by himself or with other masters of the mixing desk produced an album that nimbly sidesteps the inherent cheesiness of many of those Nitro Praise albums and the sheer predictability of putting dance grooves to well known worship choruses. There are some delights here, I particularly went for the drum 'n' bass passage of Matt Redman's "Once Again", the ricocheting rhythms and wheezing vocal of Ryan Biermann on "Your Love Is Amazing", and the Scripture intro of "All Honor" complete with a delicious vocal from Kyah. The integration of strummed guitars and electronic rhythms doesn't always work but there's enough here to delight Blackwell's faithful fans and find some new ones.

The master of the club scene has impacted the christian
scene. I have been searching for this type of music
forever..
and finally found it in one of the Dj's i used to listen to
back in NYC in the 80's.
This is the real deal. Keep on keepin on.
