Ol' Scott has moved around stylistically down the years. Starting as an early purveyor of acoustic Jesus music, more recently he offered a number of heavily orchestrated 'inspirational' style albums which veered dangerously close to high camp despite their devotional sincerity. Now at last the gifted singer/ songwriter seems to be finding his own stylistic feet and offers a CCM album of songs mainly concerned on social and ethical issues. Outstanding is the title track which cuts through the success mania of America with a prophet's scalpel and the marvellous "Where Are The Dreamers?" which in the lyric sheet quotes Anthony Campolo, "We are only as young as our dreams and as old as our cynicism". Scott's songs are intelligent without being wordy and though his warm MOR-ish voice doesn't quite have the cutting edge of 'issues' singers like Steve Camp, there are still some quality songs here which deserve the widest possible audience.
