Despite a very nicely produced cover this EP of four original songs and one 'bootleg' quality live track, is little more than a demo tape. Shelter are one of a number of bands following in the wake of such groups as Eden Burning and fellow Scots, The Electrics, who they have played support for. The music is a folk/rock fusion, but tends to be just rock played on folk instruments. To get the best from whistles, fiddles and bagpipes much stronger tunes are needed, all we get here are rock progressions. Sadly, all the tracks here sound rather samey so don't strain to get this tape. There is potential however, so keep a look out for Shelter.
