Sounding somewhat like a slightly restrained Stone Sour, the Florida-based group Since October rock out on this, their third album. The tunes are emotive, passionate and raw, but full of melody and rooted in the love of Jesus. Vocalist Ben Graham describes the lyrics as personal to him or one of his bandmates, and a general theme to the album would be perseverance through the adversities of life. The production is what you would expect of a band with Tooth And Nail backing, and the band would expect this to take them to larger audiences. Helping with that is the fact that "The Show" was selected to be a theme song for WWE's most recent Wrestlemania event. The band admit that it was written with sports in mind, and is, basically a full-on fight song about never giving up, battling to the end, and believing that you will overcome. It is a typical WWE song; energetic, heavy, catchy and memorable. It doesn't necessarily fit in with the rest of the songs, but it does provide a change of pace in the middle of the album. The majority of songs are a slower tempo than their previous album, but this actually serves to bring out the strength of their songwriting. This is the sound of a band that deserves a bigger stage, and they may just get it on the back of this fine album.
