While I don't claim to know very much about reggae music at all, I know good music when I hear it. From the minute I put Singing D's EP in my CD player, my head was nodding instantly. While Singing D's name is new to me, his affiliation with the group Shekinah - arguably the UK's renowned raga sound system - should let lovers of that scene know that at least the product should be of some quality. Singing D has a smooth yet soaring voice which here is married to covers of black gospel standards over traditional reggae production. The laid-back vibe breathes fresh life into songs such as "I Love You Lord" and "You Are The Fairest Of Ten Thousand". My only quibble with this album is that listeners might get tired of the same chord progressions in every song. However this is made up for by nice production touches and the repetitiveness will probably float by the casual listener. So all in all, an impressive project.

Fantastic Album!!!! I attending the launch of this album and
I must confess that it has inspired to seek the Lord. I was
bought up in the church, but am back for good THANKS TO
SINGING D. There is a song that Darren wrote, that I would
love to get hold of Hold on brother man...............My mum
was diagnosed with liver cancer in April of this year. It
has been the hardest thing I have even had to accept.
However I started going back to church, and that has helped
me emensley. When I feel at my lowest I sing that song, and
the burden I feel is LIFTED!!! HOPE I can get a copy!!!!

Hi Sharon, I doubt if you'll be reading this as it's been a
long long time, but God is good! The EP was just a taster or
introduction. The album was meant to follow soon after
but... What man plans and what God determines is two
different things. Time has moved on since 2004 but (life
spare) by His grace some things will be out in the near
future 'Patience 'bitter but its fruit is sweet'
