In CR38 I had the pleasure of reviewing Stavesacre's debut album "Friction', which I gave a nine out of 10 rating (excellent)! "Absolutes' takes Stavesacre on to new heights of maturity and depth. This album is a progression of 'Friction': there is more atmosphere, passion and sensitivity. I have seen reviews from American magazines where they have put Stavesacre in the category of hardcore punk. I would disagree with this as my idea of this genre is usually kids who rely on noise. No, Stavesaere certainly don't fit that image: they are great musicians; they are terrific songwriters; and they have integrity - rather than an "in your face' gimmicky attitude! In reviewing 'Friction' I highlighted my favourite tracks; however, on this album I love every single one of them! "Absolutes' is superlatively produced by Bryan Carlsrom out of Eldorado Studios in Hollywood. A man who has worked wilh 'names' such as Alice In Chains. White Zombie and Orange 9mm. Stupendous! Absolute(ly) brilliant album! Buy it and crank it.
