This is raw rock from the Vines stable of throat shredding and riffology. Opener "Steal The Show" stomps along for three minutes and immediately grabbed me. Other tracks like their recent US single "Rise" and "Still A Little Shaken Up" show off more poppy sensibilities, while still retaining the jagged and very credible guitar rock feel. They have been promoted heavily by AOL in the UK, which certainly says something. Stereo Motion also happily venture into wider territory than simply loud guitars with an inventive use of a string section and some charming gentler cuts. The production of this album is great - smooth and accessible without taking away the rough sound that the band has mastered. I recommend this to anyone who has been into the recent revival in garage punk rock. Hmmm, and to the rest of you too!
