Steve Adams was formerly assistant editor of Youthwork magazine and therefore should know a thing or three about effective communication of spiritual truth to today's youth. What he and Authentic Media have come up with here is a unique ten-week course which contains Matthew's Gospel (taken from the Youth Bible - New Century version), devotional sessions written for young people which work best when done alone, 10 sessions for youth leaders to use with groups, and a full-length music CD featuring tracks from Sixpence None The Richer, The Tribe, Rachael Lampa, Jars Of Clay, Fernando Ortega and Phatfish. The stated aim is to try "to bring God's word to life utilising Christian music as inspiration for studying God's word" and though that wasn't the original intention of most of these songs, overall the thematic links work quite well. So if you're attracted to the idea of thinking and reading about the Cross, temptation, sexual pressure, materialism, the Kingdom of God etc. etc. to the accompaniment of quality (if stylistically diverse) Christian music, this groundbreaking item is for you.
