Usually production on a privately recorded album ranges somewhere between abysmal and mediocre but not here. 'Lead Me To The Light' is an album where a well above-average singer/songwriter is given intuitively 'right' arrangements by producer Roy Salmond. Steve is based at a church in Vancouver, Canada but his visits to the UK have built up a growing British following. If you want acoustic-based songs with the right cutting edge of contemporary instrumentation, check out this crafter of songs which often stay within Bible narrative retellings but never slump into mere predictability. His voice isn't that strong but his songs are.
