Kent-based recording studio manager Steve Kreeger describes his debut 54-minute CD as "an experiment.an expression of me, of my passions and my influences." The album comprises 11 self-penned, arranged, performed and produced instrumental tracks, a small number of which contain background spoken words, and the music of which consists of a variety of electronically generated and sampled sounds. Steve's garage and house roots are obvious throughout. No part of the package is overtly Christian or worship (in the conventional sense) in content or style, with just two of the track titles suggesting any kind of faith basis for the project ("Grace" and "Wonder"). The variety of electronic sounds moves impressively around the headphones throughout the recording, but a greater variety of tempo and intensity across the album may have added to the interest and 'holding' value for the listener. As it stands, 'Opening Closed Doors' isn't the most accessible album you'll encounter.
