This is not a new concept, dropping preaching clips into the dance grooves: it was popularised by Scott Blackwell and the Raving Loonatics back in the early '90s and earlier than that Britain's very own House Of God (co-produced by Cross Rhythms' very own Tony Cummings) sampled everyone from Dr Billy Graham to Dr Martyn Lloyd Jones on their groundbreaking 'Say Yes' release. But the preacher samples chosen by this Bournemouth DJ have some powerful content despite some of the voices being pretty dull. That's more than made up for by Steve's production which is fresh and invigorating. Steve has a gift for amplifying the message with the music, following the highs and lows, the moments of sensitivity and intensity, of drama, power and meditation. The preaching makes techno-house-trance music more accessible to church folk, while the music makes preaching more accessible to club folk! Comparing the sounds to Basement Jaxx, Groove Armada, etc, is not too much of a big-up: Steve has the chops, the musical ingenuity and the palate of sounds to make an interesting set even without the preachers. Add challenging and inspiring words from the likes of Mike Pilavachi, Louie Giglio and Pete Greig and a new wave of club worship has arrived.

Product Description
The debut album from DJ Steve Leach, drawing musical influences including Fat Boy Slim, Basement Jaxx, Groove Armarda, Daft Punk and The Chemical Brothers. With a sound that is fresh, fast, funky, full of invention, and full of faith and hunger for God, Steve mixes bang-up-
to-date styles with inspiring spoken word. A drummer and 'proper' musician, he achieves a balance traditional band music and electronic dance music. Using all the new technology available to be highly creative and musically excellent rather than just using a computer to churn out um-cha um-cha!
