This has taught me not to judge a CD by its cover. Observing the sleeve (a nice picture of the boy himself) and hearing the clean pop tones that greet you at the beginning of the first track, you expect another Matt Redman or Michael W Smith. What you actually get is Elvis meets Paul Weller - an unexpected mix, but it does grow on you. The songs are pretty predictable style-wise and yet the lyrics can have you reaching heavenwards in praise - it is to Steve's credit that he wrote them all himself. All the tracks have a strong message, notably "I See Jesus" - a real praise gem. Steve is one of Britain's most faithful musical journeymen and I suggest you check this album out - it's worth a listen.
