The only man who could give Michael W Smith a run for his money as America's most popular male pop gospel artist. Starting off with an anthemic mid tempo call to abandon everything "For The Sake Of The Call" the arrangement is an intriguing blend of Nashville's mass voice Christ Church Choir, stomping beat and some neat banjo work! But Steven's forte is haunting minor key songs which draw together threads of scriptural truth in well crafted songs usually with an acoustic underpinning and here, as on previous albums, we have what makes appealing undemanding music with some unquivocal truths expressed in the lyrics. It's a shame he had to pull out of his UK tour earlier this year, one day the word will get out in the UK about this man's gift.

What a fantastic follow up to his '89 release! The title
opens up the cd song list. And, Wow!! what a song
starter"For the Sake of the Call":great song Steven! I had
also heard "Busy Man" play on ccm radio. When I played the
cd at home, "When You Are a Soldier" grabbed my attention
right away!! This song made a real connection to life at
the time, and further down the road. Thank you for this
wonderful song Steven. "No Better Place" was another
grabber, it lifts you up with joy!! GOD Bless! -Don
