The singer released this single in August 2019 and its basic message is live in the present and what's in the past is in the past. The chorus is basically undefinable from the rest of the song so it could've built more in those sections. The rap verses are okay without being arresting. Having said that, the loud drumbeat and high-in-the-mix synth bassline fit this genre of song well. On the other hand I have heard very similar accompaniments in many songs, and in truth "Rearview" is rather dull.
