A group named The Apostles might sound like you are going to get an old school quartet with 30 years or so of bumpy rides down the Gospel Highway, but in fact this Florida trio - Earnest Faust Jr, Jacquelyn Etienne and Marlon Graves - have a '70s slinky soul sound which recalls all those groups like The Manhattans and The Chi-lites. Their quiet storm stylings on the whole work very well which their lyrics range from a proclamation of God's steadfastness ("You Carry Me Through My Trial") to a tirade against fake elders and pastors ("God's Word"). The hardest hitting song of all is "I Choose Life", a narrative song about an abortion-bound mother. The disco-style "Show Him Love" is fun too. If you have a taste for retro '70s sounds and accompaniments dominated by keyboards and drum programming you could find much to enjoy here.

I download the mp3, I became a fan after hearing it on Radio Airplay. Good CD, the entire cd. Five Stars!
