The Reeds' debut album 'All In A Day's Musing' was described in CR78 as a "relaxing" with a "stripped down" acoustic folk sound; on the evidence of this track, founder members Karen E Stennett and Scott Anthony Wainwright have decided on a more in your face approach. Darren Shaw and Paul Farey's politely-pounding rhythm section backs up some chunky rock riffing alongside a strumming acoustic from guitarist Wainwright. The catchy chorus encourages us to make a daily decision to live positively, and Stennett's vocals have plenty of warmth and just enough power to convince. "Sunny Side Up" marks some encouraging development from The Reeds and bodes well for their forthcoming album 'All Is Not Lost.'
