Here's a five piece acoustic rock band from Colorado whose debut album sparkles with keen melodies, effective harmonies and vertical lyrics. The Sonflowerz's musical petals are unfolding in the light of their relationship with the Son and this selection of 12 bright, breezy acoustic guitar-driven songs really communicate the joys of intimacy with God. The all girl line up of Elissa, Shara, Becca, Joy and Jessie were all still teenagers when they recorded this a few months back and yet there's a maturity in the songs and performance that would shame some more experienced groups. From the downbeat compelling worship of "Only You" and "Overflowing" to the driving rootsy rhythms of "Fire Of God" and the title cut, here are a dozen worship songs that the band want to take beyond the walls of the church and into the world. In April the group played in the UK on a short tour and if you saw them, you probably already bought a copy of this strong album! At present The Sonflowerz are unsigned but on the strength of this, surely they'll garner some label interest very soon.
