In July 2008 a worship event at Wellington Square Church in Hastings, This Is The Hope, with the purpose of uniting all churches in Hastings, was successfully held. Now this "professionally recorded, mixed and mastered" live recording has been released to raise money for a local inter-church project called Hope Kitchen, that two times a week opens its door to as many as 40 homeless people, providing them with food, warmth and fellowship. In view of the heartening qualities of this initiative I won't spend long in noting the deficiencies of the music here. Covers of worship classics like "Lord I Lift Your Name On High", "Thank You For Saving Me" and "These Are The Days Of Elijah" are given barely adequate interpretations here. But let's not worry too much about the lack of aesthetic quality. This album has merits beyond the questionable art. Support it if you can.
