This is a two-song demo by UK singer/songwriter Tony Mallah. "Fire In My Soul" is first: an acoustic guitar-led ballad with well arranged backing vocals. The song grows in intensity and reaches a pleasant climax of key change and guitar solo. "Rise" is driven by a Hammond organ and features a catchy chorus and slightly livelier rhythms. This is a gentle and enjoyable listen. Tony's vocals are very good - he has a slightly gravelly voice, which offsets the muted feel of the songs very nicely. Overall, the texture and style is a little bit samey but I imagine that, with a full album, we could hear something really very good from Tony Mallah.
