The Bahamas' answer to Mary Mary? In fact, this duo aren't ladies but father and son who have produced an interesting mix of Caribbean styles with CCM pop and American-style gospel in a batch of praise and worship songs. Tracy Knowles Senior is a worship leader at Bahamas Faith Ministries. Heavily impacted by teaching on the Kingdom, he wrote the closing song "Seek Ye First The Kingdom" - which is pure Scripture in song taken from the Sermon On The Mount. Even though this theme has been explored many times before, this was easily my favourite track on the album. Unfortunately, I found the opener "Kingdom Man" to be marred by some cringe-worthy rhymes and traces of playing to gender stereotypes. There were some soothing, well performed vocals but overall the lyrics of this album often let it down. Tracy Tracy are good performers in need of better lyricists. Nevertheless, 'Standing On The Promises' has some heartfelt praise and worship to God.
