Although now settled in Australia, Trent is an American who had a short spell playing keyboards with rock giants Petra at the end of the '90s. This is carved from the same melodic-rock stone, and with Thomason's fine vocal arrangements is pleasing listening. Opener "Watching Over Me" presses all the right buttons, the title track leans towards jazz and there are two fine ballads displaying an impressive overall songwriting range. To top it all, the set closing instrumental "Ear Candy" is cute and funky. So often it's a chore reviewing albums. In this case however, it was a pure pleasure.
