Over recent years, it appears that that the resources available for young children have improved, for example my family have found the various releases from Spring Harvest to be helpful, and more importantly relevant to the age of the child both lyrically and musically. Such quality is not demonstrated here, though. This cheap and cheerful production offers an unnamed children's choir singing CCM hits which were big on US Christian radio over the last few years. In truth, the lyrics do not communicate to the perceived age group, the opening to The Newsboys "Shine" would be impossible to be understood by ages up to 10, even with the inclusion of "This Little Light Of Mine" towards the end of the song. The same could be said for Rich Mullins' "Awesome God" and Crystal Lewis' "People Get Ready"! These recordings have already been released on 'Absolute Smash Hits For Kids', something not indicated on the back sleeve. In summary, this is at best kids' karaoke and at worst a questionable marketing exercise. A very disappointing collection.
