This 4-track demo tape is the first recording by an energetic young indie/grunge band who are steadily building up a following in their native North London. Unwritten! is a 4-piece outfit made up of family members (and sporting a female drummer), with a sound which bears more than passing resemblance to Nirvana and Green Day. This home recording has a rough edge to it, but don't let that put you off. The songs are dark, with catchy Colbaine-esque melodies and the band are not afraid to tackle controversial issues. "Addiction Gone" describes battling with an addiction - and winning through -with the help of God; while "Creator's Arms" is a cry from the heart for a world without hope. Not for the more sensitive listener, but if you're looking for Seattle-sound grunge with a message of love, you could do worse than check out Unwritten!.
