Vicky is worship leader at St Paul's Church, Dudley, West Midlands, and this self-produced and almost entirely self-penned 10-track CD was recorded at Kings Studios at Sutton Coldfield. Vicky has a good clear voice, reminiscent of a younger Nia; the up tempo songs get punchy arrangements, the slower songs get the lyrical keyboard treatment from Dan Parkes, and there's some tasty saxophone throughout from Gordon Vincent, all of which adds up to a polished product. Whilst the songs don't push back the known frontiers of composition technique, they are soundly Scriptural, mainly cliché-free and well crafted, and there are two which are my particular favourites: "My Love Is For You", featuring just Dan's piano, which is an invitation from God to trust his love and accept what he has done for us in Jesus; and "There Is Power In Your Name", a song of surrender and commitment. A good example of UK grassroots talent that deserves encouragement. Nice one, Vicky!
