United Pursuit is a collective of friends from Tennessee who came together to worship together and thanks to some excellent albums and stirring appearances at events like the Big Church Day Out now have a growing reputation in the international modern worship arena. Their Tuesday night Lovewar meeting is where much of their song writing springs from, and this recording is an attempt to capture some of their spontaneous, acoustic worship times as they learn to seek God in the safety and stillness of a living room environment. Will "dreams of seeing our generation's hearts set on fire for Jesus...he adores the presence of God and he's passionate about pursuing deep relationship with people." The "living room" context makes for a simple and heartfelt sound of people earnestly offering themselves to their Lord together in community. Kicking off with "We Have Come To Give You Glory", there is an organic development to the flow of songs; praise gives way to a seeking to be personally engaged with God, recognition that there is nothing we can do in and of ourselves. This leads to surrender and an encounter with "Yeshua" and a prayer that he would "Set A Fire". Most tracks are constructed around simple phrases sung by Will that are gradually picked up and repeated as others join in with the ebb and flow. This produces some lovely, rich vocal harmonies but, given that most tracks are five to nine minutes long, does make for considerable repetition. However, the musicianship is excellent and there is much sensitivity in the playing. One particular song I would highlight is "Help Me Find My Own Flame": "I don't want to ride on somebody else's passion/I don't want to find that I'm just dry bones/I want to burn with unquenchable fire/Deep down inside see it coming alive...help me find my own flame" - an important prayer for all Christians. This project was originally released in 2010 and is only now getting UK Christian retail distribution through Elevation. Also included is a DVD documenting some of the story behind the project and showing the live sessions, which is helpful in understanding the context and glimpsing some of the passion behind this project.

Product Description
“When asked about how I write songs, I’ve always been quick to explain that I learned how to lead worship in a living room. And most of the songs I’ve written have come out of one living room in particular, a living room in a house we call the banks house. This album is an attempt at capturing our experiences the past three years learning how to seek God in the safety and stillness of our home. You will find these recordings far away from big stages and bright lights. They are a simple, yet we think beautiful expression of what we are all about. This album is us hitting record and capturing our community gathering over a weekend. All of these songs originated spontaneously from our Tuesday night meetings called Lovewar. We pray these songs awaken your soul to the love of God and cause you to begin to dream of what it means to pursue God and one another.” - Will Reagan
