Yvonne Perkins is an upcoming independent American inspirational gospel songwriter and this CD introduces her and her songs to a wider audience. As a demo of songs for publishers or as an illustration of her talents to get her gigs, this works well enough. But as a CD released to the general public, there are too many flaws in the production to really showcase Yvonne's singing abilities. And there's no doubt that the dear sister does have abilities. But the rough, distorted, out-of-tune moments on "Who Is Like My God" and "Good Morning Jehovah" simply jar. Songs like "It Shall Not Always Be" and "I Got The Power" are better and I'd love to hear what Yvonne could do with a decent budget behind her. Doubtlessly talented and able to pen memorable gospel tunes, she's got a good album inside her. Sadly, this isn't it.

Hi Mike
You are on target. The songs are Demo that I'm making available in an attempt to reach recording artists and/or publishers. I'm a songwriter not a singer. Check out new songs at my website. VIctory Dance (which currently is in the 3rd round of contest at www.makeastar.com. Contest ends 12-27-05 2:00 p.m.) and I Learned to Rest. Thanks for the review. Be blessed Luke 2:52 Psalms 5:12
Yvonne Perkins
