The ultimate collection covers six or so years of music from one of CCM's biggest and most recognisable all-girl acts. This compilation offers 24 of their best known tracks. The material is drawn from ZOEgirl's four major releases plus a few other songs released via compilation discs. 'The Ultimate Collection' is not to be confused with the 2005 release 'With All My Heart - Greatest Hits' of course! So three years on from calling it a day we have the same songs in a different package pretty much. I do feel at least they could've stuck on a few studio tracks of unreleased or remixed versions to make this project worthwhile and that bit more credible. I do though find myself singing along realising I know more ZOEgirl songs than I thought I did. Throughout their musical career together the girls enjoyed major success in the CCM charts and I'm sure many of the current breed of young Christian female artists and groups owe something to the influence and sound of ZOEgirl. But recycling old tracks in an endless succession of compilations does little for EMI CMG's reputation.
