The tour that promoted dc Talk's 'Jesus Freak' album was the point where the band really brought together all the elements that made them great. Edgy rock, strong pop and their foundational hip-hop influences all come together. Backed by a huge band, plenty of stage trickery and featuring three larger than life frontmen, dc Talk's stadium-filling show is well captured on this DVD. It features material from the album it was promoting as well as favourites like an explosive "Luv Is A Verb" and "Jesus Is Just Alright". There's a few bits of documentary footage including a moment where a drunken cockney lectures Toby on the history of rock'n'roll. There's a cool acoustic set halfway through where the band sing Charlie Peacock's "In The Light" sitting on a settee surrounded by standard lamps. It's an all action show which, as you'd predict, concludes with a heavyweight version of "Jesus Freak". The DVD includes music videos for "Jesus Freak", "Colored People" and "Just Between You And Me". Capturing a great band live, it makes me realise that despite their solo successes, the sum of the trio's parts is greater than the individual contributions.
