Jeremiah 29: 11

Jeremiah 29: 11 talks about God knowing the plans that He has for you, plans to prosper you and not to harm you etc. But why is it that although we have no problem in believing that God has good things in store for us later in our lives, we forget that He also has great things for us today.

When I was 15 I was @ a youth camp. I had always believed that God had His hand upon my life and the speaker at the camp gave me a prophetic word saying that at some point I would go into full time work for God. This was exactly what God had been telling me and this was just confirmation of that fact. I had no problem believing that promise, but at the age of 15 I had a lot of problems with exactly what God had for me then.

So often we get caught up in our future that the present gets forgotten about. Yet in Exodus 3: 14 - God tells Moses "I am who I am". This is not only telling us about God's unchanging character, but also brings out the fact that whilst God knows our past and also our future, God is constantly in the present and is concerned with our present.

So what have I been twittering on about for the last 238 words? (Count them if you want). Well let me tell you.

We often tell people that when we are older we are going to do this and that for God and never do anything with God now! We get so caught up in the future when in reality what we need to do is get caught up in God.

Our journey along the path that God has for us is made up of not only giant steps but also little daily steps, that start by going back to God each day and saying "God what have you got for me to do today".

Do the things that God wants you to do today and let God work the rest of your life out, cos there's no-one more qualified.

Make today count!!! CR
