Loss of baby daughter inspires song on new Selah album

AMERICA's award winning harmony group Selah release their seventh album, 'You Deliver Me', on 25th August. The project was produced by Dove Award winners Bernie Herms, Jason Kyle, Todd Smith and Allan Hall. It is the group's first album for three years and follows the birth and death of Audrey Caroline Smith, daughter of founding member Todd Smith and his wife Angie. Said Todd Smith, "The album was almost finished when we found out about Audrey. Angie really wanted to have a song we could play at Audrey's memorial, a song that expresses the things we would have wanted to show or tell her. She and I sat down with Christa Wells and we wrote 'I Will Carry You (Audrey's Song)'. Even though there are so many things we are never going to experience with Audrey, God is making those things much more beautiful and greater in His care. Anytime we can tell Audrey's story it gives her life weight and purpose, and to hope and believe that so many people will be ministered to through this song is really meaningful." CR

The first time I heard this song was on the episode of 19 Kids & Counting when they had the memorial for Jubilee. Then I friend of mine put it on fb. My granddaughter's name is Audrey and when I saw Audrey's song I had to listen. I bawled when I heard the whole song! I lost a baby many years ago and the Lord has told me that it was a girl, we ended up with 3 boys. This song also reminds me of that loss, but knowing I will see her again. That is why Audrey is so precious to us now, spoiling a little girl who is the light of my life. Love this song!

thank you, Nicol, Todd, Allan, Amy for being faithful in ministry with your beautiful gift of song. You have been there for me in much of my Christian journey and in the everyday joys and trials of life for most of the last decade.

such a beautiful song, first time I heard this song was today 01/06/11 My granddaughter as has not been able to carry full term. She just lost her 3rd baby monday 01/03/11 we got to hold this baby it was 4mo. and 1week. They will cremate the baby and she will take it home with her. I'm going to give this song to her and pray it will help her through this hard time. We don't have the answers as to way God allowes things to happen, but when I questioned God he spoke to my heart and said to enjoy the time I got to hold the baby. God is so good.
