Major reference work on the history of gospel music published in US.

AN ENCYCLOPEDIA of African American gospel music has been published in the USA. Uncloudy Days: The Gospel Music Encyclopedia contains entries on over 650 gospel artists and personalities dating from 1900 to the present day. The author, Bil Carpenter, conducted over 100 interviews in putting together the tome. Bil Carpenter holds a BA in history from the American university in Washington DC and has written hundreds of articles for numerous publications. Billboard magazine described the book as "an invaluable and long overdue gem."
