When Gene Eugene, songwriter, producer, sometime Lost Dog and the heart of the wonderful Adam Again, so tragically died last year, the band effectively died with him. This album marks the last ever performance by Adam Again and includes a host of Gene's musical friends lining up to join the band in tribute to him. Among them are the 77s' Mike Roe, Derri Daugherty and Steve Hindalong of The Choir, The record itself is rough and ready, but brimming with energy and emotion. Considering the circumstances behind it, however, the quality is really secondary to the occasion, and as such this is essential listening. inexplicably, a second CD of acoustic songs by Adam Again guitarist Greg Lawless is included, which frankly adds nothing to the package.
