This is the debut recording from Perth, Australia's folk band All The King's Men. The band have provided new arrangements and melodies for a selection of well-known hymns on a mini-album showcasing the band's folk roots and gang vocals. The hymn "To God Be The Glory" starts with a soft single acoustic guitar with slight percussion, slowly building with bass and drums to finish as a full on folk rocker. "Hope Of The World" uses the very familiar tune "Auld Lang Syne". Again, this is an acoustic guitar-led with drum backing combined with an acappella bridge. After a jig inspired interlude, the track finishes with the lyrics to "O For A Thousand Tongues". As a contrast, "I Will Walk With Him", sung by James Collins and Nikki Cunningham, is a soft rock style track, featuring a more ambient sounding electric guitar. The final track "Demands My All" has another acoustic arrangement and features layers of vocal harmonies, rounding off the album. The quality of the hymns (Charles Wesley, Isaac Watts, etc) cannot be faulted but often the arrangements are somewhat formulaic.
