It was once said of the late Carl Butler that he was country music's most enthusiastic performer! Probably the same could be said today about veteran Allen Karl as there is no doubt that he desires to sing nothing but straight honky tonk country music. Listening to this single with its lashings of steel guitar and fiddle, it really does evoke memories of the classic heydays of Hank Williams and Lefty Frizzell. Unfortunately, I found the lyrics completely trite and whilst the song was obviously designed to garner airplay in American honky tonks, for me it did precious little.
