Having fallen in love with the Amazing Pilots on the release of an earlier EP, it's good to see the Wilkinson brothers release a full album. If you can have Irish Americans I guess it's possible to have Irish Americana for that is what this is! The duo have just completed a tour backing Buddy Miller and got one song in the spotlight to highlight their own music. The melancholy nature of the songs seems to originate with country music and yet it's balanced by a subtle humour so a song like "The Way I See Things" emerges as a masterpiece with its understated relationship observations. Other highlights include the memorable "All My Wasted Days", and the fabulous country shuffle of "Stupid, I Loved You So" where they once again prove the masters of the wistful lyric.
