Recorded live at a leaders conference in Harrogate, we've been a little slow getting round to reviewing this but courtesy of the better-late-than-never department, Anchor Music follow up their debut EP with an album that mixes originals and cover versions to good purpose. Hailing from Vinelife Church in Manchester, the album does a great job in creating an arena in which this group of leaders can lift up their hearts in worship. I have to confess that I love singer Penny Larkham's voice as she leads things and I particularly like the spontaneous moments that are threaded into this. Overall this is a solid, well recorded collection. Standouts for me include their version of "Be Thou My Vision" and the soaring "Anchor". Aside from their obvious skills at introducing their own material into their set, they also do a fine line in interpreting other people's songs as "Better Is One Day" demonstrates. There's plenty of this type of live worship around but it's good to hear a bunch of Brits delivering it.

Love these guys, it was a privilege to serve and play with these guys at Vinelife Church Manchester, whilst I lived in Manchester.
