From Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Canada comes this little gem. Angela studied Recording Arts and Missions at college; this is her third release, but her first full length project. Reference points for Angela are Alanis
Morissette, Jennifer Knapp and Diana Krall, and the general feel of the album is acoustic, with guitar and piano laced with subtle percussion providing the primary accompaniment. Indeed, much of her live work has been in coffee houses and at camps. Despite what the artist admits is a raw feel to proceedings, this is part of the charm. You see, Angela's voice is fragile, haunting, and yet taut with conviction of her faith and mission. I won't single out individual tracks as each in its own way charmed its way into my heart. Not once was I tempted to reach for the skip button, which says a lot, believe me. Angela says that she's prayed for outlets beyond her Canadian borders. I would venture to suggest that if 'Grace Child' doesn't give her these outlets, then it's probably never going to happen, as this is sublime ministry, worthy of a much wider audience.
