The title track from this seven-song mini-album is everything you want from a piece of urban R&B, a catchy hook sung with soulful assurance by Arthur, some tasty interjections from Tamara Johnson and a crisp, funky track put together by producer Charles Williams II. Only the spoken word segments on this, and indeed on several other tracks, add nothing and could put some people off. "Nothing Takes The Place Of You" with its slight reggae vibe has a peculiar effect which sounds like a canary let loose in the studio, but still works. And the mid-tempo "Cover Me" is pleasant enough though doesn't warrant two mixes particularly as the Lounge Mix doesn't do much other than remove much of the percussion. But all this shouldn't detract from the infectious quality of 'I Had To Go There To Get Here'. Here's hoping it gets heard across the airwaves.
