The great dance music revolution meant that a lot of the music that ended up in the charts originated in someone's bedroom. Amazing what you can do with a computer and a synth or two. Into the arena step Glasgow's Big Boss who describe themselves as a hard hitting techno-rap dance band. The musical mastermind behind the 'Bouncin" EP is 24 year old Mark Hilditch who slaps together lots of action, plenty of atmosphere and some interesting sounds. The home studio production holds up well and musically this is a fine slab of dance grooves and samples that are guaranteed to inspire your feet! The one weakness of the album is in the vocals department. Okay, I know that the beat's the thing but the singing and rapping is a little disappointing compared to the music which is so good. As a calling card, these four songs deserve to make friends for Big Boss and performed live, fill a few floors and introduce dance fans to the real Big Boss at the same time.
