Signature Songs is a budget line reissue series of CDs from well-known American CCM acts. If you're unfamiliar with Billy and Sarah Gaines, the music is firmly in the American R&B gospel tradition, with most of the songs dating to the late 80s and early 90s. I was disappointed that there were no lyrics in the liner notes, but to compensate for that there are notes on each song, which give insights into how the songs were written and how the songs relate to our daily faith. The songs cover central themes including forgiveness ("I Found Someone"), challenge to faith ("Make Up Your Mind") and change ("The Same All The Time"). The fact that the songs come out of personal experience will encourage the faith of those who listen. This is a bunch of well-crafted songs, perfectly executed. If you want some slinky R&B gospel (if a little dated) featuring up front Gospel lyrics, look no further.
