This is sort of a worship mash up. You take an old hymn and a modern worship chorus and combine them together. All good in theory but there are two fatal flaws here. Firstly, the syrupy, diabetic coma-inducing production which hampers so much worship recordings and sends this reviewer to sleep. Secondly, the concept of joining together a modern worship chorus and a classic hymn transparently doesn't work. At least the choice of modern worship songs steers away from the obvious contenders we've heard again and again but the audio car crash that happens gives me a headache. Rather than a smoothly executed mix, it just sounds like I'm playing two songs at the same time with terminal consequences. The worst example is the mix of "Praise My Soul" and "Indescribable" which is so indescribably bad that it made me laugh out loud! Oh dear! This is Volume 2, I pray that there won't be a third instalment in this series.
