Formed in 1999, Bones Apart Trombone Quartet is recognised internationally as a leading chamber ensemble.

The members are committed to raising the profile of the trombone as a chamber music instrument by demonstrating its versatility. Through commissioning new compositions and arrangements, Bones Apart has expanded the boundaries of brass chamber music, widening its appeal to an ever-increasing audience.

In 2001, Bones Apart were awarded the chamber music prize at the prestigious Royal Overseas League Competition which led to appearances at the Edinburgh International Festival and Cayman Arts Festival. Bones Apart has also performed at major UK venues including Wigmore Hall, Queen Elizabeth Hall, Royal Festival Hall and St. Martin in the Fields in London, Bridgewater Hall in Manchester and Symphony Hall in Birmingham as well as appearing on BBC television and radio. Overseas tours to the USA, the Caribbean and the Far East have been undertaken as well as numerous visits to Europe.
