There was a time when Brenda Busby's style of warbling singing was contemporary but it seems that only in church circles does the fashion continue, probably at tea parties where older ladies gather to chat. Certainly she's singing in tune and everything but this old fashioned style will leave most music lovers totally cold. This is unfortunate. Her choice of worship material from the likes of John Pantry, Keith Routledge and Bryn Haworth is all very good but the cheap 'n' cheesy backing does her no favours. I managed to listen through "Be Still For The Presence Of The Lord", "How Sweet The Name Of Jesus Sounds" and "What Kind Of Love Is This" and another five songs until I quit when we got to the old Lena Martell classic "One Day At A Time". It'll only appeal to you if you're in your 60s. And even then, I'm not sure.
