You couldn't be a rad rocker with a name like Bourgeois could you? Brent is best known as one half of Bourgeois Tagg who cut two albums for Island the second of which produced a US Top 40 single "I Don't Mind At All" in 1987. Bourgeois also recorded two solo albums. Now with encouragement from Charlie Peacock (one of this album's co-producers) Brent has emerged onto the Christian music scene (you may remember his name on 'Coram Deo II'). His Reunion debut shows the keyboardist/composer/singer can write classic pop, R&B hooks and even a jazz lick or two. A standout track here is the Euro-soul (ala Seal) of "One Love", while "Total Surrender" with its delicate layers of harmony recalls the past delights of Todd Rungren. Former Bourgeois Tagg guitarist Lyle Workman pops up on the Beatle-esque "I Don't Mind At All" while throughout straight from the heart lyrics sit nicely on the classy pop arrangements. A better album than Phil Collins has turned in for years but unlikely to sell quite as many.

It was so refreshing to hear the conversion of music lyrics go from his self titled album to this CCM work of fine art. It almost seemed like a moment of clarity for the half duo of Bourgeois Tagg. With songs ranging from the self-titled album like "Dare To Fall In Love" and "Sh-- Out Of Luck" to the more positive songs on Come Join The Living World. Take for instance songs like "A Little More Like Jesus", "Perfect Harmony" and "Restored", its a growing into his own led by the hand of God. Truly amazing conversion! And let's not forget that this guy also brought us CCM artist Rachael Lampa, whose early hits included "You Lift Me Up", "God Loves You" and the title track from her debut album, "Live For You". I urge you, with the most sincerest nudge, to take a moment to listen to this great album, and accept the invitation to "Come Join The 'LIVING' World" as Brent truly has, with these melodic tunes, thought-provoking lyrics and great production.

One of the most underrated CDs of all time, this is truly an amazing collection of songs that are musically and lyrically excellent and diverse in feeling, sound, expression and engineering. Each song stands on its own as a beautiful and meaningful message for the world, and there are no so-so songs included. I encourage you to listen to the songs and the lyrics without distraction and hear the melodic synergy and messages for what they are - top notch. Personal favorites are Perfect Harmony and Let His Love Into Your Heart, but these songs are ALL great.

I have this great cd among my countless number in my ccm library. I had heard ccm radio play the song "Restored"; I was totally taken by it; great song! "One Love" is the cd starter song; what a tune to begin this great cd; just luv the pop style. How about those familiar words to "A Little More Like JESUS"; just luv this song completely!! Great song for you Brent! Christine Dente from Out of Grey duo, is heard on the background of the song as well as Wayne Kirkpatrick; also Chris Rodriguez & Vicki Hampton who have sung with Amy Grant: these same 4 are also on "Restored"; a great favorite! It is no wonder that the songs sound so wonderful!!
This is another one of those cd's that has songs of great style; that each song is worth complimenting!
Christine Dente is heard so well on "Total Surrender" as well as Wayne Kirkpatrick; another cd hi-lite that I just luv! "Perfect Harmony" is top notch ccm! This whole cd is TOP NOTCH CCM!! Brent and Christine's vocals are "perfect harmony". If you do not have this cd, I urge you strongly to buy it! GOD Bless! -Don
