Amidst the plethora of quiet, "inspirational" Christian music CD's that hit the racks these days, you'd think it'd be impossible to find something that stands out - especially when it's a fully instrumental set. 'If You Lead Me' is a collection of gentle and soulful piano melodies played by Timberlake and delightfully complemented with delicate orchestral arrangements from Daniels - all leading to a full, yet tender soundscape. Most tunes are extremely well-known - "Be Still", "Abba Father", "There Is A Redeemer", etc - yet there's something rather pleasing about their familiarity. These are interspersed with four original, wordless tunes composed by Charles, all of which fit in neatly with the rest. It's got to be something to do with the deep sensitivity with which the duo meticulously treat the tunes - as if each were their very own - that result in the most relaxing and spiritually inspirational listen. I can't say I'm convinced by the cover-art - however well done. But the music goes deep and genuinely restores the soul. I love it.
