Clifton Davis is one of America's leading black film and TV actors. He's also no slouch on the music front having composed "Never Can Say Goodbye" (a million seller for the Jackson Five and Gloria Gaynor). I never knew he was a Christian though he did participate as a presenter of the Dove Awards the year I saw them in Nashville (1990) so I thought it likely. Now this album shows he's a so-so singer with a smoochy voice better suited to supper club balladry than the funkier dance rhythms he's given on the opener. A very average album.
